About Canine Connections

Canine connections was setup as a site dedicated for Australian dog owners and Australian dogs.  It’s very difficult to buy and sell dogs in Australia.  There are evil people out there running “puppy farms” that do not care about the well being of their dogs.  Consequently most sites have reduced or stopped the ability to sell dogs in a responsible way.

It’s the dogs who suffer most.

Our aim is to provide a platform to connect responsible dog owners with dogs who need a good home.  There are plenty of good homes in Australia to provide a loving mutually beneficial healthy life for all the dogs in Australia.  We just need to connect these dogs with those homes.

There are larger breeds who seem to get the most hate.  It’s not all without reason.  Some dogs have a greater capacity for effective violence if and when they do act out violently.  Chihuahua’s are very aggressive but we never hear about a Chihuahua in the news having killed someone because they don’t have the jaw strength to achieve this.  Otherwise, they probably would.  These larger dogs need human companions who understand their potential for violence and will not put them in a position where they can harm young children or other innocent creatures.  We are of the opinion that these breeds need special consideration and care but not necessarily to be restricted or banned.  Most of these larger “bully breed” dogs are incredible companions and will never harm anyone or anything.  We support the responsible breeding, trade and ownership of these larger dogs.
